Demystifying Yoga, Why Yoga is for You!

About our host Tressa: Most of my life yoga felt way out of reach. I have never been super flexible, thin and blessed with a ton of money to spend on designer yoga clothes, fancy mats and studio classes. Then I entered the right studio and my life changed and I started developing a healthy relationship with myself. Years later I became a yoga instructor and my main mission is to spread the truth about yoga, because everyone can benefit from this practice.

In this class we will demystify yoga by talking about what it really is, where it came from and how this practice can fit your life, right where you are. No spandex required!! We will also discuss some of the fun tools that I like to use that help make yoga accessible such as folding chairs, blocks, straps and bolsters. There will be a short practice and a Q&A session at the end.

Yoga and Herbs for the Pelvic Floor

Do you have pelvic pain? When you sneeze or cough, do you pee a little? Have you experienced prolapse? No worries, you are not alone.

In this workshop we will explore the anatomy of the pelvic region and discuss some of the factors that could cause the muscles to become too tight or too loose. Once we have established a base of knowledge, we’ll spend more than half the class creating awareness in our own body, journaling, practicing yoga breathing (pranayama) and movement techniques (asana). These techniques help us train, balance, strengthen and relax the pelvic floor to improve function and reduce pain or discomfort.

In addition we will talk about nourishing foods and herbs that can support the health of the pelvic floor.

You will have a handout to bring home that will give you an overview of what we will be covering so you don’t need to worry about remembering all the content.

Japa Mala and Yin 4 Week Immersion

Lovingkindness Reiki & Yoga is proud to present this special 4 week introductory immersion into the practice of Japa Mala Meditation and Yin Yoga. We are truly blessed to have Deborah Brien as our guest instructor. The total cost is $75 for with the option to purchase a handmade 54 bead mala for an additional $30. If you choose not to purchase a mala, one will be provided for your use during class. Each week you will learn a new mantra and its meaning and how to chant it on your mala. Once the meditation is completed Deborah will lead you through a yin yoga practice to help quiet the mind and the body.
